What the students say about their experience
To help give you more of a feel for what it is like to be a student on our course we asked our current students for comments to use on this website. The three questions that we asked were:
- What have you found to be the best things about studying homeopathy?
- What have you found most challenging?
- Anything else you can say that might be helpful to prospective students?
What follows is a summary of their responses.
One of the best things for many students is to do with undertaking something completely new and different
"It has given me a new interest in life, there is so much to learn and it is very interesting"
"Learning new information in a structured, supportive environment"
"A real medicine – an adventure"
Many highlighted the personal development aspects of the course as being the most valuable:
"It can change your life and open your mind to things you never dreamed of."
"The personal development and time out to do something for ME."
"I have got to know the real me and still learning. I would recommend personal and professional development to anyone."
"But most of all, I have found the whole experience empowering. Not only am I learning how to heal people with a holistic approach, which is fantastic, but on a personal level, I have learnt so much about myself that I feel it has made me a much stronger and better person. For this alone it is fantastic!"
Another theme that came through many responses was that of joining a new and supportive group of people
"It is a close knit community which continues after you finish college so there is great support"
"Meeting people with varied outlooks on life, health and disease."
"Working with an open-minded, interesting and fun group of people."
"Working in a safe and confidential environment."
Most of the challenges identified were to do with getting back into study
Many commented however upon the assignments as being both one of the best and one of the most challenging aspects of the course:
"I found it quite difficult getting back into study after being away from it for so long."
"Although all the new information was daunting in first year now that I’m in second year I’m surprised at how much I’ve retained and how much sense it makes. The assignments in 1st year were very well laid out to facilitate learning."
"The best things were..a different approach to studying and exams, and help and feedback given in class, on assignments and in group work"
"(One of the most challenging things was) becoming motivated to tackle the assignments"
"While the assignments were the most challenging, they were a fantastic way of consolidating learning and we were well prepared."
"The most challenging thing about the course for me is learning how to study again 30 years later! But also feeling so proud of myself when I get the results of my assignments back and see it is possible because the subject is so interesting. It is a huge challenge doing the assignments but it is a great way of learning and as it is spread over the year it takes any pressure or fears about exams away."

"It’s scary starting, but the people you meet (both fellow students and staff) make it feel safe very quickly. There is great staff support."
"Be open to everything that comes your way – don’t feel the need to instantly pull it apart – sit with it and see where it takes you."

"It’s a wonderful course. I’ve learned so much about myself and my abilities. The assignments may seem off-putting but are such a learning experience."
"Even if you were never to practice homeopathy in a practice setting I think that we owe it to ourselves to broaden our minds and approach to our health and that of our families. To watch it work is amazing. You make great friends whilst doing the course, you get great support but most of all what you learn about yourself and how it helps you in your life going forward is the extra bonus. We have terrific tutors and they are always there for you if you need them. So for me it has been a life-changing experience so far and I feel I am getting stronger as a person."
